Palestinian men and women cross Qalandia checkpoint to go to pray at Al Aqsa mosquee in Jerusalem for the Second Friday of the Holy month of Ramadan.

Thousands of Palestinian Muslims arrive throughout the early morning at Qalandia, main checkpoint between Ramallah and Jerusalem, to travel for prayers in Al Aqsa mosque on the second Friday of the Holy month of Ramadan. Israeli Civil Administration allows men and women over 40 years old to cross the checkpoint without permit while other Palestinians need a special permit to access to the Old city. Al Aqsa is the most important mosque in the Holy land and the third one in Islam. Muslims around the world are observing the holy fasting month of Ramadan where they refrain from eating, drinking and smoking from dawn to dusk.
